Today starts the 63rd edition of the Tenor Viñas Competition - taking place from 10 to 18 January 2026- with the opening ceremony at the Saló de Cent of Barcelona City Hall. The event will feature an opening address by Valentí Oviedo, General Director of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, followed by a recital by soprano Sara Blanch, winner of the Third Prize at the 53rd edition of the Tenor Viñas Competition (2016).
RESULTS OF THE BARCELONA AUDITIONS
The results of the Barcelona auditions, held on 7, 8 and 9 January at the Liceu Conservatory of Music, have now been published. With these results, and including the international auditions held last November, a total of 110 singers have been selected to take part in the Competition.
The Competition dates are as follows: the Second Round will take place on 11 and 12 January at the Liceu Conservatory of Music, the Semi-Final Round on 13 and 14 January at the same venue, the Final Round on Friday 16 January at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the Winners’ Concert on Sunday 18 January, also at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
