On Tuesday, June 17, the Tenor Viñas International Singing Competition was awarded the Honorary Prize of the 7th Edition of the Ópera XXI Awards for Cultural Institution—a recognition that fills us with pride and which we wish to share with all those who have been part of this project over more than 60 editions —63 this coming January—, celebrating the passion, talent, and dedication to the new generations of lyrical voices from around the world.

The words of Mr. Miquel Lerín, great-grandson of the renowned Tenor Viñas, who accepted the award, captured it perfectly: “The Liceu Contest has also won the support of other theatres, starting with the Teatro Real in Spain, but also from many international opera houses, and this has greatly contributed to how far we’ve come. Thank you all for your support, for your generosity, and I ask only one favour: do not stop—this must go on.”
