The application period will open in July and close on September 16, 2026.
The Tenor Viñas International Singing Contest returns with its 64th edition, to be held from 16 to 24 January 2027.
The competition will open on Saturday, 16 January at the Saló de Cent of Barcelona City Hall. The second round will take place on 17 and 18 January at the Conservatori del Liceu, which will also host the semi-finals on 19 and 20 January.
The final will be held on Friday, 22 January at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the contest will conclude with the Winners’ Concert on Sunday, 24 January, also at the Liceu.
International preliminary auditions will be held throughout November, beginning on 3 November at the Teatro Real in Madrid, followed by 5 November at the Metropolitan Opera of New York, 9 November at the Royal Opera House in London, 10 November at the Opéra national de Paris, 16 November at LA Opera in Los Angeles, 16 and 17 November at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, and finally on 30 November at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. There will also be auditions at La Scala in Milan, with dates yet to be confirmed.
In Barcelona, the preliminary auditions will take place from 12 to 15 January at the Conservatori del Liceu.
Alongside the announcement of the official dates, the competition introduces also this edition’s official image, inspired by the aesthetic renewal of the stage design in the last two editions.
